BUNKAI OF THE MONTH

Each month, a new bunkai video will be added in an effort to help CSL students to learn the various kata applications. Depending on your browser, you may need to download a plug-in to view the video. If you are a CSL member and have other photos or videos that you would like to see in this section, please send them in.

This month's application has been divided into two videos. The first video demonstrates the traditional application(s), often called bunkai, that should be used for CSL kyu exams. The second video offers several more complex ideas involving locking, throwing, choking, etc. These variations are sometimes referred to as oyo and can be quite destructive. These oyo should not be used by CSL students during exam unless a student is asked to perform a secondary application.
